The office staff will answer any and all questions you may have. B. Management will also take you on a tour of the apartments during your appointment if you have not already had the opportunity to do so. Choose your preferred unit style. Make a deposit. A. Have your security deposit ready to secure an apartment selection. (Security deposit is a minimum of $150.00 per person in most apartment choices.) Sign a lease or priority agreement. A. Lease Agreement: You will have the opportunity to review the lease with James Properties, Inc., select an apartment, sign the lease and pay the appropriate security deposit. B. Priority Agreement: If you desire to select an apartment but none are currently available, you may be offered the choice of signing a Priority Reservation Agreement. This agreement will give you a priority selection of the next available apartment unit in the style you prefer. In order to have priority selection, a priority deposit must be paid. The process of selecting an apartment should take one or two visits depending on your familiarity with the apartments, your roommate selection and the timing of your apartment search. Remember to choose roommates carefully and to get your application in early for the best selection.
Due to the high demand of off-campus living, it is suggested that apartment searching begins during your first year. Most leases are signed between Oct. 1 and Dec.1 of the previous year. |
